Properties and Application
The metallic ring joint gaskets are manufactured according to the API 6A and ASME B16.20 standards for application at elevated temperatures and pressures. The small sealing area with high contact pressure results in great reliability.
Some types of TRIA Group ring-joints are pressure activated, that is, the greater the pressure the better the sealability.
Our metal ring joint gaskets have been designed to withstand exceptionally high assembly loads over a small area, thus producing high seating stresses.
The TRIA Group ring joint gaskets are produced in several shapes and sizes, and are suitable for oil and gas pipeline flanges, pressure vessels, high speed joint faces, and other demanding applications.

Shape and Construction
The TRIA Group ring joint gaskets are produced in several shapes and sizes to meet the most demanding applications.
- R--Oval Type: Standard ring joint gasket with oval cross section and designed to flanges with standard ring joint grooves.
- R--Octagonal: Standard ring joint gasket with octagonal Type cross section and designed for flanges with standard ring joint grooves. Interchangeable with oval section gaskets on modern octagonal grooved flanges.
- Rx: An adaptation of the standard R type gasket and designed to fit the same groove design. It is interchangeable with standard R type gaskets
- BX: Specially designed for very high pressures. All BX gaskets incorporate a pressure balance hole to ensure equalization of pressure which may get trapped in the grooves. It is only suited for API BX flanges and grooves.
